What I liked

The staff at this hospital can not be faulted, their Cleanliness,.Professionalism and level of care is second to none. I have been unfortunate to have to stay at the hospital on a number of occasions and have always been treated exceptionaly well.

What could be improved

The area directly outside of the main entrance is full of smokers all the time despite the numerous notices that it is not allowed. The smoking ban is not enforced and anyone entering or leaving the hospital or waiting for a cab or bus has to run the gauntlet of the smokers, breathing their second hand smoke.

Thank you for your kind comments with regards to the Cleanliness, Professionalism and level of care you received whilst at the Royal Blackburn.

The Trust tried to enforce a smoking ban outside the Main entrance and other areas within the Trust grounds. This has not proven to be very successful therefore to ensure smokers do not stand at the main entrance omitting second hand smoke the Trust are looking at the reintroduction of smoking shelters.
