"I did not receive support for my chronic illness"

About: Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Inpatient mental health care

(as the patient),

I stayed in Ward 12 psychiatry unit, Boston.

The experience was the very worst thing that has ever happened to me. I was suffering with a medical condition not a mental health issue.

All nights were taken off me the minute I got to A&E (Poyth Unit). From then on the nighttime only got worse.

I felt I did not recieve support with my chronic and life threatening illness at any time by any staff I saw, including the doctors.

Most of the time I was terrified of both patients and staff.

It was clean!

Response from Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

I am very sorry to hear that you felt this way about your care and treatment whilst an inpatient on Ward 12. We welcome any patient feedback to enable us to improve our service delivery and patient care. There are a variety of forums we offer to do this; 1 to 1 time with staff, daily patient community meetings, ward rounds, Friends & Family Test and regular carers clinics.

Thank you for your comments, these will be fed back to the nursing staff. The comment about the unit being clean will be fed back to the housekeeping staff.

Emma Britchford, Ward Manager, Department of Psychiatry, Acute Care Services.
