"Treatment of friend who is 93 in the Cardiac &..."

About: Wycombe Hospital

Anything else?

On Sunday 1st September I accompanied an elderly friend of 93 who was taken by ambulance to the Cardiac & Stroke Unit at 1pm. My friend was greeted on arrival by her name, and the care she received was exemplary. The staff were kindness itself- the two doctors on duty, the consultant , the deputy sister and all the other staff who dealt with my friend made the whole experience a very positive one. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have some form of honours system for individuals like these hospital staff who work quietly behind the scenes and to whom we all owe so much. Let's not wait until some of them are in the dotage, if then, to give them some national recognition, unlike entertainment and sports celebrities.

Thank you for your kind comments - we will make sure these are passed onto the teams mentioned. Whilst we can't comment on a national honours system, we do have our own monthly staff recognition awards. If you would like to nominate the department you can do so by visiting www.buckshealthcare.nhs.uk/gettinginvolved/going-the-extra-mile.htm We hope your friend is recovering well. Kind regards Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust
