"Ambulance service is good, but taxi's do not help"

(as a service user),

I am a renal and heart patient so I use the patient transport service regularly.

I never have any problem with South Western, they take me to my heart appointments in Bristol. The drivers are all very courteous and helpful. I am slightly disabled and when they arrive to pick me up they always open the door and help you.

However when I attend my renal appointments at the dialysis unit in South Bristol (a satellite of South Mead Hospital) the transport is run by a taxi company and they just pip there horn when they are hear and just expect me to get in, do not offer to help or open the door.

Hi Quail545

Thank you for sharing your story. I am very pleased to hear that you are happy with the service that you have received from our Trust.

Transport for dialysis patients to South Bristol hospital is not supplied by our Trust so I am afraid that I cannot comment on what has happened during your journeys. I understand that it is likely that this transport is managed by South West Commissioning Support. They can be contacted via -

8 Brook Office Park

Folly Brook Road

Emersons Green

Bristol, BS16 7FL

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide feedback.

Sara
