About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Anything else?

A&E 10pm Sat Eve Atrial fibrillation since 2am Sat Morning. Ambulance Crew & paramedic really fantastic.. A&E could not have cared less. Not at all busy, took BP. did ECG. then I was left for nearly 2 hours. Finally Doctor who had been sitting at computer and chatting to staff immediately in front of me came over & introduced himself . Asked a few questions then went off to consult with someone else. Finally at 1 am sun he returned & said I was being addmitted. I was given some medication but was not told what it was, & taken to a ward at 3.30 . I was a Cardiac patient but was put in a really unpleasant geriatric ward. I needed the bathroom and was spoken to in a very very unpleasant manner by a staff nurse and told I was holding the nurses up by not staying by my bed. The bed was an old bed stuffed in a corner window open & fan above bed on also cold no one was around. I was very tired my condition really drains me but I went to the rec desk staff & docs were in meeting it seemed in back room one nurse arrived & I asked to be moved to a cardiac Ward I was weak and now very stressed I went back to bed very upset. I was woken by a Doc at 5 am he asked a few questions I did not see another Doc till 11 am who said they could not do anything to help me as I was under a Doc / Cardiologist at home in London so he said forget my holiday and go- home with that he discharged me I was very weak as the fribllation had by then been going on for 33 hours, it had slowed down a little but was still a problem But nobody it seemed cared The Fribulation has normally only been for 3 to4 hours so I have not needed hospital care, but 5 weeks before this I had been rushed into Mayday Hosp Croydon for the same thing a much more prolonged attack That is a Hospital It was Clean the Doctors & Nursing Staff were fantastic , they really care for their patients and it shows. I had confidence in those Doctors and the staff , I came out of there feeling Well From your hospital I was weak, stressed your medical staff could not have cared less and they made that very clear
