What I liked

To the outpatient, the hospital presents a welcoming face. The outpatient and day clinic services were very good: appointments on schedule; knowledgable and efficient staff; good explanations and information provision; medical staff generally humane and patient-centred as well as flexible.

I found the medical care very good, as an outpatient and an inpatient. Liaison between different parts of the multi-disciplinary team seems good. The surgical team were good at explaining what would take place. I was very impressed that the surgeon phoned my next of kin straight after the operation.

What could be improved

Administrative efficiency in the ward, communication amongst ward staff, especially at shift handover, and communication between medical and nursing staff on the ward all need improvement.
