coming up two years since my dear mum died on this ward ,I still regret I did not tell the sister to stop strapping my mums hands into what looked liked kitchen gloves ,the reason she said was because she had pulled her tube out ,my mum insisted she hadn't and kept saying please take them off ,I didn't say anything at the time as I didn't want to be an interfering relative , a short time later a different nurse came and removed them .my mums mouth was dry and crusted no mouth care given till about the third day her poor arms black and blue , why was I so timid at not speaking up it has opened my eyes but sadly too late now for mum . too much paper work and not enough bed side care ,
