"Wrong diagnosis"

Anything else?

I visited the Finchley walk-in clinic because of swelling and pain coming from my left knee. I was seen by a nurse practitioner who looked at the knee, and also consulted x-rays, and concluded that I had a ruptured patella. Because I could not be treated at Finchley I was sent, by ambulance, to the A & E dept at Barnet hospital to have a protective cast applied to the left leg. Having waited over two hours in Barnet I was seen by a doctor who decided, almost immediately and without the help of x-rays, that I had knee gout, and not a ruptured patella. Whilst the people at Finchley were very helpful and considerate, I fail to understand how they could have got my diagnosis so wrong. I had an appointment to see a GP at my surgery a few days after this episode who also confirmed that it was gout and not a ruptured patella.
