I have had to ring the NHS 111 telephone service a number of times in the past few months for various concerns. I have found it to be very useful and the people on the other end of the phone very helpful, especially in comparison with the receptionists and doctors at my registered GP's who I find to be genereally unhelpful and show a severe lack of epmpathy.

Every person I have spoken to at the 111 service has been thorough, and in no way made me feel like just another call to tick off when its done. They have been very honest and sincere, and when they haven't had a an answer for me about something they have explained why and told me what is the best course of action to finding one.

I have a couple of times been referred to an our of hours doctors by the 111 service and every time they have managed to get me an appointment on the day that I have called, usually within a couple of hours of me making the phone call, which as I said earlier is a vast improvement on my GP's services.

Overall I have found it an invaluable resource. I hear a lot of bad press about the 111 service, but I personally have had nothing but good experiences from it, which I why I felt the need to take the time to right this.
