Taken by ambulance from Shrewsbury to UH. Not my choice. Cath Lab and Coronary Care Unit were wonderful. Great staff. Felt safe and cared for. Could not fault the nursing on this unit. Wonderful. Transferred to 221 The care was not to the same level. I discharged myself and the staff felt this was because I was impatient but actually it was because I have a phobia of hospitals and the claustrophobic feeling and lack of empathy was too much for me. No one bothered to discuss how I was feeling; my concerns. Staff on 221 seemed to care more about their social life than patients. Lot of chat and as I was situated next to nurses station I heard a lot and some related to other patients on the ward, which I thought was wrong. Would not recommend war 221 and hope to never return.
