"Miscarriage"

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow)

Anything else?

After being 6 weeks pregnant, I had major cramps and bleeding. I rushed to A&E, in which because my bleeding was bad, i got seen quickly for a blood test and urine sample. Then after waiting for a couple of hours, a doctor saw me and told me to come back the next day for a scan. At this time i knew i had a miscarriage with the amount of blood loss. The next day I had my scan in the maternity ward, then they sent me to EPU. At this point throughout my experience plenty of nurses (both female and male) and doctors were sympathetic and caring towards me and my partner. The EPU was a bit of a wait after a urine sample, in which it was confirmed I had a miscarriage. Later on, the doctor saw me just to check me over for blood clots and any questions. Then being told to come back the next day to have another blood test to see if my hormone levels have changed. As well as a phone calls to check up to see if i was doing okay. I appreciate everyone's help and friendliness towards me and my partner. As well as not being charged at the car park due to waiting a while. Once again, thank you

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at what must be a difficult time. It is such a relief to read that you were treated in a sympathetic and caring way and I know the team will appreciate the feedback you've taken such care to leave. It is great when things work well but it is really gratifying when someone has been able to take some time out to say so. We don't always get things right and so do get in touch with the Patient Experience Team if ever you feel we need to respond to a concern or question you have. We are on 01279 827084, five days a week from 9am to 5pm and we will be ready to respond.
