Anything else?
I had a routine arthroscopy in June 2012, over the next two weeks I started to get increased swelling and poor knee movement. Was then taken to A & E at Pembury where I had to endure another 3 operations to get rid of the MRSA type infection that had got in during the arthroscopy. This meant almost 6 months rehab and i have only just started to walk properly again but without the function that I had previously. I work for myself so lost business. Trying to organise an appointment with the consultants secretary is difficult - never called back. Trying to modify the appointment resulted in ' you have done this twice already if you do it again then you have to start as a new patient via your GP'. My last appointment was in early June this year - was kept waiting for an hour (poor management of appointments). When I was finally seen it was by another doctor who looked t me for 5 minutes and then said that he would organise a new appointment to discuss the next steps. We are now at the end of August and i have heard nothing. I was willing to give the PRH a chance - but the inconsiderate nature of their approach, the poor communication and follow up has pushed me to the brink - I can tottaly understand why people speak to lawyers because the arrogance of this hospital is unbelievable. By contrast - Pembury were excellent in every way including the post op treatment and follow up.
"Terrible communication - appalling follow up -..."
