Yesterday I had a booked appointment at the Fracture Clinic at the RBH as part of an investigation into very painful arthritic big toes. My appointment was at 13.35 and I was seen at 13.30 by a consultant surgeon who carried out his initial investigative talks in a friendly, courteous & polite manner. I was sent immediately for x-rays and within 40 minutes I was back with the consultant to discuss the x-ray results and the finer detail of my problem. His attention to detail & displayed competence made me feel very relaxed and confident that I was being well cared for. All options were made known to me with any potential risks to success carefully explained. I felt comfortable that I had all the information I needed to help me make any decision. As surgery was the decided outcome I was then sent immediately for a pre-op assessment which included blood samples being taken and an ECG examination. All carried out once again by friendly, efficient and courteous staff. Well done BRH and thank you.
