Anything else?
I recently spent 7days in Preston Royal Hospital, I was admitted as an emergency from Chorley and South Ribble Hospital, A&E was well staffed and on the ball with diagnosis, and necessary pain relief, but once transfer to surgical assessment, it was down hill from here on, my first nigh was horrendous, the amount of pain i was allowed to suffer, a student tried to give me antibiotics i had not been prescribed, they almost took the patient in the next bed for a barium CT Scan, he was lucky i was awake, i had to argue with the night sister she had the wrong patient, he was being discharged in the morning, he was recovering from a motor cycle accident and had been in hospital three weeks. I was right but neither the other patient nor myself got an apology for what happened. When complained to the day staff nothing was done. That on one night had me scared silly, staff i found to be lazy and uninterested in patient welfare, leaving most of the work to student and assistant nurses, only showing their faces when they thought it prudent or on doctors rounds, but at least i managed decent relationship with my doctor until Friday, when anther doctor took over for the weekend, he change my meds and my fluid intake, which left me im pain and dehydrated. Come Monday i told him i was reporting him and staff to the hospital board of governors and the doctor who would be back on duty that evening, he discharged me within the hour. In severe pain and nowhere near well enough to go home as i live alone. My recommendation to anyone who has a choice of using it or not " don't" if you have to be admitted and don't have a choice, try and get a transfer to Chorley, for your own sake.
"Come here ill go home worse"
