I stayed on ward 17 at Good Hope for 4 days following lymph node dissection in either side of groin.
I was extremely well cared for by surgical, nursing and auxiliary staff. Special thanks to nurse Wendy who also raised our spirits at a particularly stressful time.
The food was of good quality and plentiful and the whole place is kept spotless from, seemingly endless, cleaning. My only gripe is that you are on your own when you arrive for the op as no one is allowed to wait with you, even in the waiting room. Also when you are taken to the ward after, it would be nice if one visitor were allowed to be there. This is allowed at QE and it really does make all the difference at a very nerve racking time.
Other than this my stay at Good Hope couldn't have been better. Many thanks.
