Anything else?
I am 19 weeks pregnant and had a problem that i had to go in for. I rang the maternity assessment centre, over the phone they sounded like they didnt believe my symptoms. I had to really insist that i need to come in and get checked out. Finally they said i can come in. Kept me waiting in total 5 hours, all i heard was the midwifes gossiping away. While i was waiting they did not tell me what i was waiting for and what was going on. No communication whatsoever, Midwifes very rude. Finally 5 hours later asked another midwife who had just started shift what was going on. She was the only helpful one out of five or six. No place to get tea/coffee considering we were waiting 5 hours. Next time will think twice, maybe take the risk or what to see my community midwife at my gp surgery. (it was bank holiday so i couldn't do this). All in all disappointing and anxious now for when i have to go in when the baby is due. Also heard them discussing other patients conditions loudly, so policy for confidentiality. Also heard them taking phonecalls, and immediately talking about the patient who rang very negatively. Nurses need to change their attitude, if i treated people like that in my job i would be fired!
