Have undergone cancer treatment/after care for the past seven years. Because of circumstances, I have received treatment at Lancaster, Carlisle and Whitehaven. All three hospitals provide an efficient and caring service, but it is the nurses at Whitehaven - specifically the Henderson Suite - that just make all the difference. Fantastic local, 'family' feel to the hospital. Nurses who understand that it's not just medication that can heal. Incredibly positive, cheerful vibe that greets you the moment you walk through the door. Other hospitals have all the glass, modern-looking decor, but who cares about that when you're ill? No-one wants to be in hospital, but if I have the choice this is where I want to be.
"Really what nursing is all about"
