"Appointment with the Breast Screening Team"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

Anything else?

I thought I had found a lump and went to my GP who referred me to the Breast Screening Clinic at Macc Hospital. Although my GP assured me it was nothing to worry about she sent me to the clinic just to be on the safe side. I was nervous about the whole process and what i'd do if they did find a lump, but on the day the staff were really lovely and they all put me at ease. I was looked after by 4 members of the team, a Health Care Assistant, the Consultant and 2 Radiographers and they were all very reassuring and kind and talked me through every step of the process. I'm glad to say that everything was fine and no lump was found, but for anyone who is nervous about going for breast screening all I can say is, that my experience was that the team at Macc Hospital were fantastic and they looked after me really well. I remember the names of everyone who looked after me but I'll write to the Team and thank them in case it's not appropriate to mention names on this forum.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post this compliment on the NHS Choices website. I was delighted to read that all the staff who helped with your process was very kind, understanding and put you at ease during such a difficult time; it is pleasing to read that the outcome is good news. I have passed your compliments on to the various departments and staff concerned as compliments such as yours are a real boost to morale. Thank you
