Recently I had to undergo a flexible sigmoidoscopy procedure at the Planned Investigation Unit at this hospital. Given the nature of the procedure I was a bit anxious about what was involved, and to be honest slightly dreading it! However I was extremely impressed by the quality of the service I received on the morning of the test. I found the staff at the unit to be pleasant, efficient, caring and knowledgeable. They explained each stage of the procedure clearly and carefully, patiently repeating any points I was unsure or concerned about. During the procedure itself I was also reassured by the good working atmosphere within the team and with the good-humoured way they helped me to relax while at the same time ensuring I was fully informed of what was happening and what it meant. I really appreciated the quality of professionalism and the standard of care I received that morning and want to offer my grateful thanks to the staff at the unit for looking after me so well.
