"Enlarged Prostate and eventual TURP."

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Well, my younger brother has prostate cancer and a few years ago I decided to have a check up to see if I had the same. In 2008 while on a research project in Washington DC I experienced a little bleeding. This was the start of it. I had 3 prostate biopsy over the period to 2013 all negative but my problem passing urine worsened. I had been seeing Mr Taneja and his team and in 2013 this year... I had a TURP. I want to tell any man reading this that leaving the TURP any longer may well have killed me. I would ask you all to have the operation if the doctors say it would help you. The after effects are uncomfortable and you will find that no more semen is ejected on orgasm, but if my case is typical the feelings are just the same and I would rather be alive and have no fluid released on orgasm than be dead.

I know many men will worry about this but it does have a positive side to it. So go for it if the doctors say it will help. I would like to thank everyone who has cared for me at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital this year. Special thanks to the operating team. Thank you so very much.
