"hospital transport"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

On Tuesday and Wednesday 20th and 21st August I was lucky enough to have an exceptional driver on my visits to Southmead and Weston hospitals. Called Richard, he called ahead to warn me of his time of arrival and was on time! He was very efficient at loading me and my wheelchair onto the ambulance, taking no time at all to secure me ready for the journey (something that doesn't always happen. It once took two men 20 mins to secure me) During the journey he was pleasant and chatty and reassured me about my pick-up times and was on time for those as well. All in all he made the whole thing a pleasure rather than the chore it usually is and I only wish that I could request him for all my hospital visits. Many thanks Richard.

Hi Padstow 2013

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us.

It is always so rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent service to patients when they need it most.

I would like to ensure that your thanks are passed onto Richard directly, however in order to do this I will need some more details from you. May I ask you to contact me on 01392 261 552 or email me at sara.coburn@swast.nhs.uk and I can take information from you.

Thank you, again.

Sara
