I was taken to the A & E by my son after I had been left in the waiting room at Broomfield Hospital for 3 hours, I was taken to Broomfield by ambulance with the symptoms of a heart attack. I had serious chest pains and although there was only1 patient in the waiting room, patients that arrived after me with crazed knees and bad back were all seen, I had not even been seen by a triage nurse. After asking several times if someone was going to attend to me, with no luck, my son took me out to his car and drove me to Colchester. We explained to the receptionist what had happened and within 5 minutes I was seen by a doctor. Blood tests were carried out, ECG's were done and although it turned out not to be a heart attack it was discovered that something else was wrong which needed treatment as soon as possible. The staff were efficient, friendly and very professional. Thank you all.
