Some months ago my elderly father suffered a stroke and in the process of being taken into hospital his hearing aid was broken. Whilst in hospital (not NMGH) he became quite upset at being unable to hear staff and visitors, which exacerbated his general distress. When my father was discharged I accompanied him to an appointment at NMGH Audiology Unit in hopes of getting his damaged hearing aid repaired or replaced, and the staff were so kind and helpful, it is clear that they fully appreciate how isolated a person with impaired hearing can feel. I cannot highly enough praise their dedication and consideration and I know my father feels the same.
