"Appaling staff attitude continues"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

Anything else?

I regulalry take a patient to the QMC ( more than one department) and I find that the majority of staff are unhelpful and lack a basic understanding of what is required for dignity and respect of patients. When concerns are raised with them they become defensive and obstructive in progressing the complaint. The big concern is that it is the same things being raised with them over and over again and there is no action taken to correct the failings of the departments involved.

We spend much time with our colleagues and indeed through training to ensure our staff values are in line with that of NUH and the NHS. It is concerning to hear you feel we are falling short and indeed that concerns are neither listened to nor acted upon appropriately, as we would expect. I’d welcome an opportunity to talk to you directly so that I can better understand the concerns you have raised in order that we can look into each of these for you, with a view to ensuring we make improvements where these are needed. If this is agreeable with you, please contact me directly on 0115 969 1169 ext 76023 or via email to Alison.cargill@nuh.nhs.uk Alison Cargill, Senior Nurse and Complaints Lead
