"Disaster !!!"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

Anything else?

Attended this department August 8th, On seeing the consultant who was extremely rude and said he couldn,t help me and asked me why i was there, even though he had a letter sat in front of him , I had been referred by my own G.P on recommmendation by specialist .Already had a diagnosis in place and then tryed to diagnose me with something else, send for blood test which i have already had, even questioned who was the specialist i had seen and why i had seen him... told me he couldn,t treat me as he didn,t know what he was treating me for even after i stated to him what was in the letter and listed of all medications, proceeded to do an examination which i couldn,t bear and again was extremely rude told me to get up and take this to pathology, results would be with my own G.P in 7 -10 days along with letter ,hence no letter to G.P or results..... Find this department appalling along with Consultant and trying to give a different diagnosis after already one is in place, not very helpful and if that is the care you get when attending the hospital as a patient i can actually see why patients complain..... I am pleased i took my 13 year old daughter along to my appointment has she can account for all of how this doctor spoke to me and totally agree on previous comment left on this page... absolutely appalling treatment and would never attend again.......

I am so sorry for your experience; your anger and disappointment is tangible. GP's refer for different things; sometimes it may be for an opinion as they suspect a diagnosis rather than have a definitive diagnosis; sometimes; as sounds to be in your case, the diagnosis was clear - however without some more details about your case it will be difficult for me to understand exactly what happened - such as what the GP wanted or needed to happen for example and I suspect the consultant still needed to confirm a diagnosis before instigating any treatment. Could I ask you to contact linda.higginbottom@ulh.nhs.uk directly at Lincoln County with some more details as she will then be able to help you - and importantly also address the issues you raised such as staff rudeness which is not acceptable.

Again my apologies but also my thanks for sharing your experience with us.
