"I felt no one really listened to what I had to say"

About: Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

After being diagnosed with Depression and Agoraphobia and trying various Antidepressants, meeting with numerous psychologists who offered CBT (all of which I had researched in full online) I felt that noone really listened to what I had to say, I felt they were just following guidelines and werent listening to the various shades grey in my life which had seemed to make the mould for the way I am today.

Imagine you have a poisoned parrot on your shoulder said one, I listened carefully and shook my head in disbelief nothing of what she had to say related to how I was behaving or feeling for that matter.

After various assessments I was assigned a social worker that apparantly was there for my benefit to give me support for things like overcoming my agoraphobia. She visited twice and I guess I must have missed the rest of her visits (if there were any). Because I spend most of my time either sleeping my depression off or sitting in my bedroom staring through the window watching life pass me by, I could be lay dead for all they would know and noone even bothered enough to make sure I was stiill breathing, so much for our wonderful NHS.
