I came in for a day operation which I was kind of worried about. I was given a private room due to my age (15) and was looked after very well. There was a significant amount of waiting around but that was to be expected as it was a very busy day, I was 5th on the list and there were some delays. The nurses were very kind and not at all patronising which was great. They did everything they could to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. Thanks Ward 16 :)

Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts about the care you received from the Child and Adolescent Unit on the 17th August. Attending the unit for surgery can be a very stressful time, and I am glad that you were reassured and made to feel comfortable. Unfortunately it can feel like there is a lot of waiting around for your slot in theatre, and we try to give activities for all waiting on the unit. As a unit we strive to achieve excellent care, it is very rewarding when we receive such positive comments as we then know we are achieving high standards of care.
