"Keep up the good work"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

This hospital has not been in my good books for the last few years. My Mum and husband received appalling treatment there.

There is a lack of communication in the CDU. The outside doorway casualty needs a good scrub, and there needs to be a stop to smoking outside of casualty.

BUT I have to give praise where it's due, last night I took my husband in with some worrying symptoms. He was seen immediately, assessed properly, told what was happening all the time and well cared for.

The Doctor was friendly and informative, the nurse was professional and kind. She too kept us in the loop of what was happening.

I can't praise them enough. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for providing feedback about your husband's experience and it sounds as if the changes we have made over the past few months has resulted in improvements in your views about the service provided by CDU staff. I am sure staff will appreciate the encouraging feedback, and we will be working hard to ensure that the improvements are sustained.

The no smoking signs are prominently displayed and staff do remind members of the public that smoking is not permitted outside of the A&E department or indeed within the hospital grounds. I apologise that we are not always able to ensure that members of the public comply with our request.
