"No operation on a broken hip admitted 18 months ago"

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital / General surgery

(as a friend),

Nothing has happen for 18 months...

My friend broke his hip 18 months ago, every time he gets a date for an operation, the staff make excuses, no bed for him to go to after the op, well, surely at some point it should be next bed free is his?

They say his bloods are not right either, but they are ok when he is checked....until it gets to a bed being allocated, then strangely, his bloods are wrong........

He had DVT when he went in first time, it does take a long for an ambulance to come... they didn't treat him until a London based consultant heard about him, , (because someone told on the Worcester consultant to him when he was there).

That consultant had a machine sent to Worcester to save his life. the ward sister said no bed, consultant, he can get back in that one........ makes sense to me............

18 months later, I reckon if that consultant who went to all that trouble to save my friends life knew he was still waiting for his hip operation at Worcester Royal, He would be a very unhappy man.

I think no one wants to take the responsibility for his treatment, I think they think if he dies it will be problem solved.. he is 50 years old
