"Smoking shelter ?"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Anything else?

I feel the need for an on-sight smoking shelter as the current situation is laughable. Today I witnessed countless people smoking outside the main entrance despite several well placed signs stating the no smoking on site policy. I was sat in ward 18 (maternity) which is directly above the main entrance for 2 hours and in that time not one person was challenged by a member of staff regarding smoking. The windows in the ward were open and cigarette smoke was entering in. This surely has to be unacceptable. I propose a smoking shelter a short distance from the main entrance for patients. As a smoker myself I am quite happy to leave the grounds to smoke, as should other visitors and staff.

The Trust has installed a smoking shelter adjacent to the corner of the main hospital building, away from the main atrium entrance.
