"Gallbladder Removal"

About: Bishop Auckland General Hospital

Anything else?

I had my gallbladder removed at bishop Auckland Hospital on 2nd August 2013, the consultant carried out the operation, I can't thank the whole team enough. I had to be there at 7am, at 9am i was the second one in for the operation, i was in recovery by 11am. The recovery staff were fantastic, the day ward staff were excellent, very polite, very caring, I was offered toast etc and drinks. I was given medication when I asked, i was allowed home at 4.30pm the same day. it's now two weeks on and I feel great and my wounds are healing fantastic. Highly Recommend the consultant and the team, I didn't have gallstones but due to all the pain and my symptoms for two years, it was agreed this was worth trying to resolve the issues as Hida scan did show that my gallbladder was not emptying correctly. I no longer have that dull constant pain under my ribs, I no longer have heartburn, I no longer have that bloated tummy which hurts to have a bra on, so the surgery was well worth it for me.
