I attended St Marks recently for a colonoscopy. I was very nervous as not very used to hospitals. Everyone I met was very pleasant. The receptionist booked me in and I then met a nurse pretty much bang on the appointment time. She explained everything that would happen, including the slight risks and got my approval. Then it was straight into the procedure room where the doctor put me at my ease, gave me some sedative which actually didn't send me to sleep, just relaxed me so I could watch the screen and see what was going on. What I had been dreading was really very straightforward thanks to the consideration and care of everyone involved.
