"Great job by Phlebotomists at Selby War Memorial Hospital"

About: The New Selby War Memorial Hospital / General medicine

(as a carer),

My elderly and confused mother was due to have a blood sample taken at Selby Hospital, but having had an appointment in another department, faced a 2-hour wait for her blood to be taken.

Despite having a busy warfarin clinic session ahead of them, the phlebotomists managed to fit my mother in straight away, understanding that it would have been difficult and distressing for her to wait around. They treated my mother with respect and understanding, make a very good job of drawing a sample, and even showed me a handy tip for helping someone with reduced mobility put on a jacket. Thanks for an excellent example of care.
