What I liked
Almost all staff were really professional and helpful once I got through to ITU.
What could be improved
Trying to ring main switchboard to get through to intensive care. Phone line rang out 5 time before it was answered on the 6th attempt (at midday). Switchboard staff defensive and unsympathetic when I explained my relief that I had finally got through.
I was trying to get through to ITU to enquire about the condition of my friend and was desperate to know if he was alive or dead - my confidence that the hospital in Kettering was adequately staffed with efficient and caring professionals was shattered at the first hurdle.
