About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was admitted to surgical ward 2 after a motorcycle accident for surgery to my leg and knee. Consultant was very professional and told me exactly how it was and what I could expect both short and long term.

The standard of care on the ward was second to none during my six night stay. All staff took time to learn my name and call me by it! Every one of them appeared to care passionately about what they were doing.

The problem was that this was a busy ward and they are understaffed! They can only do what they can humanly do.

Please give them a break and give them praise for the work they do. There may be individual cases of dissatisfaction but these beds are never empty and the turn around is immense.

I for one, thank each and every one of you.
