"Interviewing for Nottinghamshire Health NHS Trust"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

(posted on behalf of service users and Carers )

We are service users, Carers and Volunteers and attend a Meeting called the Rosewood Forensic Development Forum at the 2nd Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Truss involvement Centre “Rosewood” in new ollerton. Part of the groups work is to work in partnership with service user’s carers and Staff from the Forensic division and link up our involvement from Rosewood.

In this case service users and Carers from Rosewood went to work in Partnership with Wathwood Hospital to help Train and support Patients from Wathwood to do interviews. This work is carried out by ERIF (Employment Resource Interview Forum) Ingrid, Sue, Morgan, and Allison all went to Wathwood the week before the interviews and worked on questions with Patients that they would like to ask, and then the following week 2 sets of interviews took place both supported by Rosewoods ERIF Members, Wathwood Staff, and of course Patients from Wathwood Hospital.

Ingrid, Sue, Morgan and Alison all feel that it is very important for Patients to be able to take part in this kind of thing and be involved in the next wave of staff who help care for them. The Patients from Wathwood enjoyed this process very much.

Staff from Wathwood have sent individual letters to the Rosewood team thanking them for helping out. Could you kindly pass on to Wathwood how great this was received.

The group at Rosewood think it very important to spread the word about Interviewing (ERIF) and would like to see more outreach work at different locations in the Trust, could they ask what the Trust intends to do to support ERIF as it expands and will HR be helping develop it going forward?

could you pass on the Rosewood teams thanks to the Wathwood patients and staff who helped make this so successful

Hello, my name is Jane Danforth. My role involves helping our service users, volunteers and staff to understand that Notts Healthcare wants to hear stories about our services. We reply to every story and it really helps us to improve what we do, how we do it and to hear about what works well too.

Thank you for sharing your feedback I will pass this posting onto Wathwood as I know they will be delighted to read your account of the work of the ERIF. I know how much they value the input of service users, volunteers and carers. In addition to this I will pass this onto HR and ask for a response to the question your raised about support for the ERIF in the future.

Keep up the good work!

The ERIF staff based at Rosewood were a true inspiration for our patients they reported feeling supported and really enjoyed the days interviewing. These were long and tiring days however everyone involved maintained a positive and jovial frame of mind. This made the experience very positive for patients, volunteers from rosewood and staff from Wathwood. The outcomes of the interviews were very enlightening and contributed to the final appointments. I would like to thank everyone involved again. Phil

The Human Resources (HR) Team are working with members of the Involvement Centres ERIF groups from Nottingham and Rosewood in Ollerton to look at ways in which this forum can help and support recruitment across a wide range of Trust services.

By working in partnership, we are developing the ways in which ERIF representatives can both influence and enhance the processes of recruitment to improve the experience for all individuals using the HR service
