"endoscopy"

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

Anything else?

A few days ago I had an endoscopy to check out my stomach. I must say I was very nervous but really just wanted my throat numbed as I wanted it to be over and done with as quickly as possible. I must say I panicked when my throat was first sprayed, I felt as though I couldn't swallow. However the nurse in charge of me was fantastic and calmed me brilliantly. Once I'd calmed down I lay on my side and the nurse talked to me constantly telling me how to breath. I must say it was over in minutes and I didn't gag at all and it didn't hurt one little bit. I would reccomend any one having this done to just get throat sprayed. I am sure it helped that I had such a wonderful, caring nurse, she was just great.
