What I liked

My mother found some of the nursing staff to be very good.

What could be improved

My mother was admitted with diarroea and placed in a side room overnight. The bell was not working and she had to get out of bed to ask a nurse passing in the corridor to fetch her a commode. There were no adequate washing facilities and she was left to cope without assistance with washing. She spent the night upright in the chair unable to sleep. No check was made on the medication she took in with her and she was sent home with the medication that ulitmately was found to contribute to diarroea.

Checks need to be made that patients can call staff and be attended to.

Staff to wear shoes with soft soles and be aware of noise levels overnight when patients are desperate to sleep.

Checks to be made on medication on admission.
