Anything else?
I am disabled and have a blue badge. I find the parking at Addenbrookes a complete nightmare. Occasionally a get lucky and get a parking space right outside Outpatients (or A&E if that's where I'm going). The disabled car park near the entrance is always full, with cars hovering waiting for a space to become free. The main car park has insufficient disabled parking spaces (the whole car park is insufficient to meet demand), and it is too far for me to walk from the car park to Outpatients, I know that there is the courtesy bus, but it only runs every 20 minutes (so you have to arrive 30 minutes before your appointment to be sure of getting there on time) and last time I tried to use it (which was, admittedly, two years ago) there was nowhere to sit at the car park end and I can't stand for more than a couple of minutes. Some suggestions as to how these problems could be solved: 1) Run the courtesy bus every 10 minutes and supply ample, comfortable seating at every place it stops, including the car park 2) Have a scheme similar to Shopmobility whereby it is possible to book and borrow for free a mobility scooter or electric wheelchair from the car park 3) Introduce a shuttle service from Babraham Park & Ride to the hospital (stopping at all the key locations in the hospital). This should be free to disabled people attending or visiting the hospital (possibly using the free bus pass scheme?) The parking has got so bad and so stressful that last time I went my daughter paid for me to go and return by taxi which cost her £25 for the round trip (I am on benefits and can't afford taxis).
