This week, within hospital grounds I heard one clinician to another saying morning and were they ready for another day dealing with the great unwashed of the West of Scotland trying to get them to improve.
Oh dear... just so happened the person I was with (the patient) is also a clinician and was appalled at this comment, not to say anything about comments like this flouting NHS Lanarkshire's Diversity Policy. Given that this is a teaching hospital accommodating training at this very time, is this the kind of attitude being portrayed to junior staff.
Pity the person in question doesn't realise that 'the great unwashed' are keeping them in employment, and God forbid they need specialist treatment which cannot be provided through BUPA etc, will they become 'the great unwashed'.
