"This hospital is a joke"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital

Anything else?

Attended an outpatients appointment with the neurologist after a suspected stroke/TIA a few months back. During the appointment the consultant put together a plan of action - MRI scan, see another consultant re high blood pressure and see a sight specialist to see if my eye sight has been affected. Letter arrives today saying my next appointment to start said test is 14th may 2014! Thinking this was clearly a printing error phoned the helpline to be there was no error. Words cannot discribe how shocked I am, to top that off I'm 22 years old a whole life ahead of me and I'm basically told to put things on hold or risk another episode as the hospital don't know what's wrong with me. Receptionist said not to worry cause if I have another stroke/TIA I'll be admitted and will see the specialists as an inpatient. Not the point! Keep well clear of this hospital your local vet could look after you better.

We agree this does seem a long delay. If you would like to contact our Patient Advice and Complaints Team on 0800 013 0018, or email at patientadvice@cht.nhs.uk they will be happy to follow this up for you.
