"Shockingly poor treatment of dementia patients"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Anything else?

My father, who has severe dementia, was taken to A & E after a fall involving a head injury. It was almost impossible to get hold of anyone in A & E on the telephone all day despite the best efforts of the switchboard operator. My elderly mother was told that the A & E doctors had spoken to my father's care home - they hadn't! Eventually my father was given the all clear late this afternoon and an ambulance was ordered to return him to the care home. It is 11.15pm and he has just been picked up by the ambulance that was ordered more than five hours ago.. Twelve hours in your hospital, no meals, just left. Shocking. Official complaint to follow.
