"Appointment waiting times/emergency treatment."

My son attends this practice for NHS treatment regularly. I cannot fault the orthodontic treatment he has had from the orthodontists, they are fabulous and put my son at ease the first time he attended as he was a little apprehensive. Some of the receptionists we have met there however can be quite rude. Appointments have never run on time, I'm not exaggerating when I say that on average my sons appointments are running around an hour late. I once had to call to make an emergency appointment as I was called by my sons school to pick him up as his brace was broken and the wire was cutting into his mouth (which was bleeding), only to be told by the receptionist there were no appointments for THREE WEEKS! After a second phone call to the practice, an appointment magically appeared for later that day.

In seems to me that appointment times vary depending on which receptionist you speak to, after a brace adjustment, my son was told by the orthodontist to make an appointment for six weeks time to have them adjusted again, the receptionist gave him an appointment twelve weeks later as they had no sooner appointments, yet after telephoning half an hour later, we had an appointment within eight weeks!

I myself had private treatment at this practice a few years back, there were no issues with appointments then
