My father was discharged from North Devon District Hospital last week. He had originally been assessed as not having capacity. However this diagnosis was overturned. He was deemed after all as having capacity and discharged. I was told by the doctor on Alexander Ward that he just wanted to keep everyone happy. I replied that I was shocked and appalled at this statement and felt that he ought to be focusing on keeping my father safe.

In the meantime, my father is at home and unable to cope.
