Anything else?
I read the reviews before I went in to the Horton Treatment Centre for my total knee replacement . It was reassuring to hear such good reviews so now, after my op and home again, I would like to add mine. From the pre op assessment staff were caring and efficient, no waiting around, all questions answered, I couldn't have asked for more. On the day of the op the high standards continued. Of course I was nervous, who wouldn't be, but I always felt I was in safe hands. The surgeon was reassuring in his confident and kindly manner, the anaesthetist explained fully and kept reassuring me throughout the procedure. In the recovery days that followed, without exception, staff could not have been more professional. At times they were very busy but even at the end of a shift were cheery and nothing was too much trouble. I was particularly impressed with a HCA who, when I said rather sheepishly that I really wasn't comfortable with a male nurse when there was anything 'personal ' to be done, she quickly pointed out that it was perfectly ok, completely within my rights, no one would take offence and she would see to it that staff knew so that I wasn't embarrassed by having to say it again. And thats exactly what happened, without fuss and certainly without being made to feel awkward. If you are reading reviews because you are due to go into the Horton Treatment Centre and are nervous, as I was, try not to be. I can genuinely say it is my opinion that you couldn't be in better hands. When I expressed my gratitude to one of the nurses and said why, she said "That's ok - its just as it should be!"
"Safe hands."
