Having been admitted to Burton hospital as an emergency after a fall, breaking my hip and ankle, I cannot speak too highly of the care given to me. A+E staff were efficient and caring and I was transferred to Ward 19 within 5 hours. An operation to repair the hip, after considerable consultation with the surgeon was carried out the following day and from then on the care and support i was given was exemplary. From the cleaning staff, all nursing staff both day and night, to physiotherapists and occupational therapists I could not have been treated with better respect or care anywhere. Having experienced private hospital care, the staff at Burton were as good if not better. The only criticism I would have is that the nursing staff work shifts that are too long and there are not enough nurses on duty at one time. However this did not stop them doing an excellent job. I observed the care given to two elderly and quite demanding patients. No matter how busy or tired the staff were they demonstrated a professionalism to their duty of care for these ladies never faltering. Well done Burton hospital. You may have had a bad press but I would back you to the hilt. Janet White. Patient from 13th - 22nd July
"An extremely satisfied patient"
