"The staff were extremely busy ..."

About: Leicester General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff were extremely busy but still answered the call for them swiftly. If they had to leave you for another patient they always came back as soon as they could. The ward was cleaned regularly and thoroughly and all staff were cheerful and patient.

What could be improved

I had my operation in January and was supposed to be called back for a post operative check at between 6-8 weeks. Despite calling the hospital on a number of occasions to ask when I would get my appointment I still haven't had one almost 5 months later. In the first 2 1/2 months after I had some problems and thanks to a great GP I have now made a good recovery as far as I can tell.

I was informed that the delay was due to lack of staff but this check up is important to reassure you that everything really is fine, especially when you are not able to do the things you have been told you could expect to be able to do. It is the only element that has really let down my views of this hospital.
