About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Anything else?

I was admitted with suspected appendicitis but once in theater the surgeon found my ascending colon had a perforation in it and a mass of gangrene. As soon as I arrived on the ward I was greeted straight away in a friendly professional way and shown to my room. There where a few false alarms as to when I would be going down to theater due to emergencies and misunderstandings but I was always kept up to date with what was going on. After major surgery I developed pneumonia and had to go back to theater for a central line ( access deeper veins), through all this I was treated in a very caring professional way and had faith in the medical teams competence.Though the ward was often very busy it didn't feel that way. I was impressed with the choice and quality of food. I was also impressed with the conscientiousness and politeness of all the staff from the cleaners to the consultants.
