We called an ambulance this morning for our baby daughter (22 months old) who was completely unresponsive - we just couldn't wake her properly. Right from the first dealing with NHS Direct to the Paramedics arriving just 7 minutes later we felt fully re-assured that she was in excellent hands. When we arrived at the Bristol Children's Hospital, the staff were superb in caring for our daughter and even provided for our needs too. We can't speak highly enough for the level of care our daughter received today (not the first time either) and how well the staff kept us informed of what was happening and what they intended to do. Despite an exceptionally busy day with lots of emergency cases arriving and even through a staff change over, we were exceptionally well looked after and felt like our daughter's needs were a top priority. It means the world to us as parents to know that because of the dedication and care of the staff at the Children's Hospital, our baby girl is much better. As well as that, the staff made us feel confident and empowered to be pro-active should a similar event happen again. We think that the NHS is doing a great job amidst difficult circumstances with current Government pressures and at no point did we feel like our needs were not put first. Well done to the Bristol Healthcare Trust and a massive thank you to the staff at The Bristol Children's Hospital for taking care of our baby girl - you're all amazing!
