I was admitted to Derriford hospital, via air ambulance with a life threatening heart condition. At A&E I was treated quickly, efficiently and professionally. Having been stabilised, I was moved to the new Terrance Lewis building to the Torr Cross specialist unit.
The atmosphere in this unit was completely conducive to my recovery from a highly stressful experience. My wife and daughters were able to be with me, and the staff had the time, understanding and knowledge necessary to help us understand my condition, and prepare us for what was likely to happen next.
The final part of my stay was in the Bickliegh ward, where I spent my 70th birthday. Each and every member of the team in that ward was kind, patient, considerate and professional.
My wife and I cannot thank you, or express enough our gratitude to all the personnel that helped us through those difficult ten days. Your commitment, hard work and professionalism was truly humbling.
"Your commitment, hard work and professionalism was truly humbling."
